Vanier : a “Francophone neighbourhood”?

The idea of ​​giving Vanier the status of a “Francophone neighbourhood” is abandoned. The proposal by the City of Ottawa’s French Language Services Branch to adopt the model of the Italian and Chinese neighbourhoods for Vanier is not unanimously supported. “Why focus on only one neighbourhood,” asks Mathieu Fleury, Rideau–Vanier Ward city councillor, “when Francophones live throughout the city?”1
