Andrée Lacelle: the City of Ottawa’s poet laureate

In 2017, Andrée Lacelle becomes the first Francophone poet laureate of the City of Ottawa! In this position, she has the mandate of promoting poetry in the national capital over the next two years. The writer, who hails from Hawkesbury but has long been a resident of Ottawa, shares her duties with the Anglophone poet laureate, Jammal Jackson Rogers, also known as JustJamaal The Poet. It is the first time the City of Ottawa has added a Francophone component to this program.
